Sigma lenses are generally pretty good but the build quality and the glass is not as good, normally, than manufacturers own brand lenses, particularly Canon 'L' spec. Why not see if a good secondhand Canon lens can be sourced to accompany the 20D. ( Next time we are both at Brands and you have the 20D to hand you can have a play with one of my Canon lenses during one of the races I am not covering to see what you think)
