This may seem a silly question, but some drivers think the marshal post is the box just before Edwina's chicane which is a post we do not use for cars. The actual flag post is the white box on the left just before the corner (after Edwina's chicane). Could it be that you do not see this flag post?

the post in question was not edwinas it was the one after at the entrance to the esses.
