Yep, I don't buy the whole "oh my god the world has changed and will never be the same" talk either. As far as the engine is concerned, I posted this in the other thread, but anyway.
Midweek Motorsport had a snippet from Sam Collins of Racecar Engineering claiming to have seen the Volkswagen IndyCar engine. I don't know if there's any connection to their F3 engine, but VW currently have a Spiess-built 2.0 litre L4 unit there.
