That theme was used by Seven from 1986-1989 ( in 1990 they started using "Fanfare for the Common Man" ) was also used in some European broadcasts, like the BBC Rally reports, and on Hay Fisher Productions films of touring car races (probably the Ch7 link in that case)
Their Hardies Heroes theme used through till 1984 was quite catchy
Another was the ABC Sport theme of the early 80s
