True - but each circuit is different, which is why I'm interested in knowing what, if any, reason was given for standing down.

Even in situations where I've been less than happy with the circuit, I've always stood by whatever commitment I've made. Having said that, whilst I've occasionally had safety "question marks", I've never felt that I was being put in serious danger (other than the usual dangers of marshalling in the first place of course!)
