802-6
Just to fill in some history of 802-6. I bought it in late 1989 from Richard Fuller in order to use the M12 engine in my so-called 782. The car came with a Mazda rotary installed, ex South Africa, and the BMW engine was in the process of being rebuilt. So I don't think the story of its tub being used for a rebuild in South Africa is right. It had an 812 nosecone and cockpit and very dodgy sidepods giving no downforce at all.
The BMW went into the 782 for the 1990 hillclimb season and enabled me to win that year's 2 litre Midlands Championship.
But I didn't want to put the BDG into the 802 so the BMW was reinstalled.I did a few hillclimbs with it in this state, but it was much slower and heavier than the 782. I tried to find pukka 802 bodywork without success and decided to sell the car as it was hopeless on the hills.
Eventually I swapped it for a TVR Griffith from Clive Greenhalgh in Birmingham, which was easier to turn into cash.
