I agree with some, but not all of what you're saying. Looking at the ELMS field this year, barely any of the line-ups held firm through Le Mans and the season. So I don't think that will be an issue. Especially given most teams don't have guaranteed entries.
Quite a few silver-rated drivers seem to be hired guns. Not necessarily the ones putting in the money.
