That's an interesting thought, so I went and found numbers!
2016 Le Mans
LMP1 - 384 laps
LMP2 - 357 laps
27 x 3.5 minutes (for easy maths) = 94.5 minutes
So at Le Mans, the LMP1s were an hour and a half ahead of the LMP2s.
