I might be misunderstanding both sides here but I think he's alluding to the
perception that 888 may operate and supply in a way that best suits them, not necessarily towards the needs of the category as a whole. I don't believe the quality of the control parts supplied by 888 would be inferior to their ones for their own useage. I haven't heard of any accusations before.
I do like the idea of an independent supplier with no ties to a team. But would there be measures in place to prevent 888 or DJR/Penske for example to pass on recommendations in development to suit their particular needs that the whole category must use?
