He was pretty untidy on Fridays last year as well but always delivered a solid race drive. All that was missing was a bit of extra pace.
He is perfect for Red Bull as he isn't really going to challenge Max massively but he has good basic pace and can fight past people if needed. Gasly 2019 would have been mired a few places further back last week., whereas Alex was in position to pick up the pieces even if it didn't quite work out the way he hoped.
Considering how frantic his introduction to F1 has been he has coped admirably.

He'll need to stay within ~0.25s to be of any positional and strategic use. I hope he will start to manage that. Otherwise it's another advantage for the Merc's.
