Gasly didn't get a second chance, he was demoted to tororosso after 2019 summer break and it's unlikely he will get back to RB in the future despite a great 2020 season. This dtm program is the same limbo where Albon will stay for a while since he couldn't come back in tororosso/AT because of Tsunoda backed by honda. And then you're comparing two extremely different situations... after 2016, mercedes is definitely happy to have a Barrichello-like driver who will never be a serious threat for Hamilton
