With Lewis setting a new lap record, a full one second clear of the field, on a very short circuit like Monaco that really shouldn't suit their longer wheel base car and which he somehow couldn't emulate in Qualy, it feels like Merc are sandbagging and just playing games, not only with Red Bull.. but all of us.
Could he just not switch his tyres on in Qualy... or has F1 become even more of a fake reality/pantomime show?
