But in Valve's thread, everyone could have participated in saying "hi" to EERO.

I wasn't aware that a rule has been introduced, which forbids us to say hello in a thread in the Gravel trap.
On the other hand, if I remember correctly a rule
has been introduced (last year?) which explicitely forbids us to start a new thread in the Gravel Trap just wishing somebody a happy birthday ...
So how were we to know that the "birthday-ban" had been withdrawn and a "hello-ban" had been introduced?
