Fibreglass CAN suffer a form of 'osmosis' in the wrong circumstances.

If an area exposed to water isn't fully sealed with gel coat or resin then water soak into the construction.

If the water then freezes it expand and smashes open the fibreglass.

This is VERY rare but can happen.

Also, if there is a significant amount of heat involved (near boiling point) then fibreglass can deteriorate over time, depending on the raw components used.
