Yes. This is pretty awful. However, the sport they are supposedly trying to avoid has a similar long off season. For race fans and throwball fans alike, I've never had issues with overlaps. I'd be curious to the ratings for this race verses others during the Football off season.

It was Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman & Co, who back at the beginning of the 2015 season, said he wanted to focus on a schedule of about 20 races, between early February and Labor Day and therefore have a less conflicting schedule with the NFL and college football. However, the early February race hasn't materialised.
