If I am not mistaken the whole point of GT4 was to have cars that were essentially stripped out and caged versions of their road-going counterparts. That GT4 MX-5 has a turbo, Mazda never produced a turbocharged NC MX-5. A rather generous gift in my opinion. The Aston uses an engine that is extremely close if not identical in spec to the car sold in the showroom. The GT4 MX-5 has been extensively modified, not really original to the production model. That Autocar article states that the GT4 car has 320bhp, the Mazda website claims only
160bhp for the production version.
