There is still a concern that a lot of the Pukekohe "improvements" (and resultant expenditure) is specifically directed at the AV8SC event and related to Mr Cochrane finding a convenient repository to "sell" his Hamilton street circuit components.
While Pukekohe did need a tidy up if it was going to have a future life, this only really needed to be spent on pits, toilets, a track resurface in places and run-offs on a couple of corners.
The expenditure on corporate viewing and what appears to be an overuse of "impact absorbing" concrete barriers (just because they were available) is not really needed on the other 51 weeks of the year. The barriers for example, could have a detrimental effect as they are less forgiving and could make it an unattractive track to race at. For spectators, the barriers will restrict viewing to roof tops for saloons and probably nothing for open cars.
