Well yes, sort of.

Can't speak for the Group C but the BOSS stuff (or most of it) would never get a passport for historic racing based on the appropriateness and historical correctness of the components.

Past the mid 90s that possibility seems to get ever further away, although I suppose a few lucky people who could fund their part time hobby at recent F1 budget scale somehow might just about have enough clout to get someone to re-create the required components.

Does anyone still talk about chassis numbers and who drove them when since carbon fibre took off?

No doubt there will be some form of motivation for marketing somewhere to evoke the spirit of modern motor sport for the generations who will think of their era as "Historic" in 20 or 30 years from now .... but what form will it take?

Realistically it might be easier and much cheaper to introduce some sort of "Silhouette" formula and allow people to chase their memories that way.
