Alex Toropov should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
national classes

Jose Luis Cardoso, guy who posted second fastest time during recent WSB test at Valencia, comes to world championship as reigning spanish formula extreme title holder. can anyone (from Spain, perhaps) explain the difference between formula extreme bikes and world superbikes or european superstock bikes?

i suspect, they run 1000cc machines in f. extreme, and they are going pretty fast. for example, Cardoso's fastest lap during Valencia race was 1'37.478, and few days later Troy Corser on 2003 GSX-R1000 showed 1'36.0 during post season testing there. don't know anything about tyres that were on Cardoso's Yamaha though (Troy used Pirelli, of course)

i know, there is some formula xtreme class in ama series, but though it is close to superbike regulations, they use 600cc bikes there, so it should be quite a bit different from spanish one.
