It 'would' have been Fernando's first pole since Germany in 2012 when he was with Ferrari.

Had it happened it would also have taken him straight to the top of the table for largest gaps between pole positions..... that honour is still held by Kimi at a few days under 9 years, from France 2008 - Monaco 2017.
