Yes, Gilles did make it big time in Atlantic, in fact, it took until 1996 for someone to break his race winning record. Who else than another guy from his region, Quebec/Canada to beat him. Patrick Carpentier (
www.CARTpentier.com) did it with 9 victories in 12 races. By the way, Patrick openly admits Gilles being his idol.
