Hmm, I agree I'm not sure either, but the car looks extraordinarely similar to the Mustang:
http://www.geocities.com/simontmallett/mustanggal1.html As far as I have found out the Mustang was just a Capri chassis with a Mustang body draped over it, it even ran at the Norisring by the looks of it. There's a good chance it came back to Germany after the American adventure. Anyway just speculating (oh dear, I believe that's illegal in some countries now
