I don't know really. Maybe it's something to do with genetics I don't know. Europeans are generally more successful at F1. Africans are generally better at long-distance running (a bloke from Morocco was unbeaten for several years over a certain distance). That was just an example of this 'theory' in a different sport.
Suzuki has the best finish for a Japanese driver, finishing third for Lola at Japan '90. I don't remember the race so I don't know how he managed it, but according to the results he beat both Williams cars. 10 cars were classified as finishers in that race.
Maybe it's just the fact that the industry is bigger in Europe than the Far East.
