2006 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship
The British Sprint Championship will again be sponsored by
SBD Motorsport. They are continuing their support, started in 2005, and are a once again heavily involved as they will be entering a 1600cc OMS for Steve Broughton and Kim Kingham.
The 2006 calendar is as follows:
Rd 1 - 17-Apr Croft - Darlington & DMC; Rd 2 - 06-May Knockhill - Wigton MC;
Rd 3 - 28-May Snetterton - Borough 19 MC; Rd 4 - 03-Jun Pembrey BARC (Wales);
Rd 5 - 04-Jun Pembrey - BARC (Wales); Rd 6 - 10-Jun Anglesey - Chester MC;
Rd 7 - 11-Jun Anglesey - Chester MC; Rd 8 - 17-Jun Lydden - Borough 19 MC;
Rd 9 - 22-Jul Llandow - BARC (Wales); Rd 10 - 04-Aug Kirkistown – Ulster AC;
Rd 11 - 06-Aug Kirkistown - Ulster AC; Rd 12 - 28-Aug Colerne - Bristol Two Clubs;
Rd 13 - 02-Sep Aintree - Liverpool MC; Rd 14 - 17-Sep Cadwell Park - Borough 19 MC.
The number of rounds included in this year’s championship has risen from 13 to 14 which has contributed to the Total Track Mileage for the competitors increasing by 25% whilst Seat Time will also be increased by approximately 20% in comparison to the record breaking levels of the 2005. 93% of the events are taking place on current or past race circuits one of which is Motorsport Vision's beautiful Cadwell Park which is back on the roster for the first time for over 30 years.
As well as the Overall Championship competitors will be battling for the coveted Foundation Cup, the St Johns Trophy for newcomers as well as the various Category awards; all this for a single registration fee of £85.00.
