As Richard has said, welcome to the forums. I'm sure you'll have fun and learn a lot from the bunch on here, just don't take everything to heart what people say, reading things on a forum is a lot different to hearing how someone says it!
Just a quick thought on an American roll cage. A basic thought I know, but if you do go down that route, make sure that the design is going to be suitable for a right had drive car, you don't want a strengthening brace going through where your drivers seat is!
