A "K" reg B parked beside us briefly today as we took a break (and some rather mediocre coffee) at lake Bala.

It reminded me how small they look now.

Later, on a main A road somewhere near Wrexham (maybe), a Triumph Herald 2 seater with a hardtop passed in the opposite direction.

Management's Kia Niro is not a large car by modern standards but it does seem to readily fill its side of the road on older cross country routes.

The Herald, on the other hand, looked small head-on and peeking at it from the rear in the door mirror I realised that it had yards of space either side as it sat in the middle of its lane.

Once upon a time roads were indeed suitable for their purpose. Now, with more protective vehicles, they all have to have lowish speed limits and Average Speed cameras deployed.

Such is progress.
