Team's buy and sell entries to LeMans, as long as the car is the same as on the entry and the team name is right theyre not too bothered. Thus teams can have an eligible car, buy an entry from a team that maybe has earned 2 ( win Atlanta or Alms or class win at 24Hr etc) and "adopt" their name. Ive done LeMans a few times and the name on the car was just the entry, the team behind was brought in just for the race. Though I believe there have been cases where the ACO have stepped in and said "No" to certain teams..
