A lot of each weekends' teams are not fully paid, or possibly paid at all in some cases, members of their teams, and as has been said above, they possibly have families and have to take time away during the school holiday.
It's not the end of the world; other things do happen to occupy our time during the summer gap and some of us even go away on our hols.
