Have we ever had a winless MotoGP champion before?
I know Emilio Alzamora won the 125 title in the late nineties without winning a race in the year he won the title, although he had previously won 125cc GP's in prior years.
I just wondered if it had ever happened in the senior class. Moreso if any rider has ever won the senior title having never won a (senior) GP previously.
Of course asking that question probably will see Mir take the top step this weekend under Sod's Law, thus rendering the question irrelevant.
