I think the racing programme was one of the factors that actually made them post a profit again last year (aside from having stunningly beautiful cars), after years of draught and losses. I think they are being sold exactly because they are worth something again.
And whoever is going to buy them will probably be aware of that and not interfere with the racing. Ulrich Bez, the current CEO, represents a Saudi consortium that might turn AM into an independent again if they should manage to acquire the brand and company IIRC.
