Going a bit off topic in terms of the actual item, albeit very much on topic in terms of what it is based on, I recently purchased a rather nice modified replica of the 1980 Spa winning Martin bros car in 1:18 scale.

I spent most of an xmas cash pressie on it as I doubt these things come up all that often!

The modeller used a Norev road diecast car as a the basis and apparently was one of 5 made?

There was a similar car on ebay about a year ago - the 1978 Spice winner.

I can only hope that it will appreciate in value even though it will have a limited specialist appeal.

I've written to the seller asking who did it and whether they would fancy further replica projects.
