Same thing happened at the demise of Group C and the demise of Group A happened around the world, not just here in Oz.
I'd hope that lessons from the past have been learned and IF the current series DNA is changed to being other than just V8 engines, then it would be good if it's done in a way that minimises the costs to all involved of making those changes.
