His book represents his perspective, rather than an objective truth. No doubt that he is committed, no doubt that he is professional, but neither of these things guarantee that he is acting in the overall best interest of the sport or the category... just that he's doing what he sees as the best interest
as he sees it, and doing it with a certain competence and experience. There's plenty of viewpoints to suggest that this isn't everything that the category needs to prosper: he's presided over some proper clusters in the past, and that shouldn't necessarily be ignored.
Similarly, his input shouldn't be automatically ignored or dismissed simply due to anybody's antipathy to him.
All that aside, there seems to be writing of some sort on a wall somewhere, but it seems difficult to read...
I haven't gone looking for the why's/wherefore's behind the Rogers' washing their hands of the category, but given their interests in and commitment to Australian motorsport, and their ability to make their involvement profitable, but they obviously determined that it's nothing they want/need to be involved in any further. Again.
