Jarama's main claim to fame is that it was a home to the F1 Spanish Grand Prix. It hosted the race in even years from 1968-74 (trading off with Montjuich Park). After a serious accident on the Barcelona street circuit in 1975, Jarama took the Grand Prix and held it from 1976-81. The circuit all hosted WSC rounds from 1987-89.
Kind of off topic, but does anyone know how things are progressing on the full circuit at the Gotland Ring. Once it opens, this circuit should definitely be a possible venue for sportscar races (full circuit measuring 4.039-miles when complete).
