For the first time in my life I will try cooking "French silk cake recipe" which I find quite complicated.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Slowly mix in the melted chocolate.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla and salt.
  6. Gradually mix in the flour until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Whip the cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread the whipped cream on top of the cooled cake and garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
