Yep, I was looking at going this year and found the same cost. Plus, due to the exchange rate you will get hammered once your over there. I figured once I flew, rented a car, bought new gear and food, that I would spend around $3-3500 on the trip. I think I'll try again next year and hope the dollar has regained some value.
