Race Result:

That was Scott McLaughlan's third win of the season and well deserved.

For once the start of the race didn't turn into a fiasco and as it settled down, it looked like it might be caution free but it wasn't to be, as Vee Kay stuffed Jimmie Johnson into the wall.

After today's race Will Power still leads the driver's championship, with 523 points, going into the final round at Laguna Seca next weekend.

Josef Newgarden's race went sour after pitting for blacks. He finished 8th but is still 2nd in the championship, on 503 points. Scott Dixon who finished 3rd, is 3rd in the championship and also on 503 points but Newgarden's 5 race wins put him ahead of Dixon. Marcus Ericsson, who finished 11th and race winner Scott McLaughlin are mathematically still in the hunt, with 484 and 482 points.
