Our newest press release from Saturday:
V10'S TO RUMBLE AT BRANDS!

After this weekend's testing, the waiting is over as EuroBOSS's lights turn green and the drivers and teams hail the start of the 2006 EuroBOSS season. The season opener, to be held at Brands Hatch at the end of the month will see a welcome return for the EuroBOSS cars and will provide UK motorsport fans with a unique opportunity to hear the true sound of grand prix racing, a V10 engine!
"EuroBOSS, our teams and drivers are pleased to be returning to Brands" commented Race Director and Co-ordinator, Roger Cowman. "We enjoy excellent relationships with the authorities, local promoters and business partners at each of our racing venues and Brands is no exception. We are commiting greater investment to create the best possible racing spectacle and a memorable occasion for everyone. Many of our teams run V10 engines which we believe will attract the UK fans and that the amazing roar of these engines will be the star of the show."

The decision to switch from V10 to 2.4 litre V8 engines in Formula One was made at the end of 2004 and means the sound heard by fans on a Sunday afternoon is totally different to that of the V10. The resulting drop in output is roughly a 20 percent reduction causing lap times to climb by an average of one to two seconds.

In contrast, EuroBOSS will still roar to the sound of V10 engines this season. Regulations allow cars to be run with an unlimited engine capacity with many teams choosing the Judd 4.0 litre V10. The more powerful engines provide drivers with stronger acceleration and higher G-forces in the corners. Cars competing in EuroBOSS and powered by V10 engines have been responsible for setting 14 of the 17 outright lap records at many of the UK and European circuits.

EuroBOSS continues to grow in stature both with drivers and with the vast array of fans across Europe and the 2006 season is no different. The season will welcome a number of new teams and will include eight double-header races throughout mainland Europe where at least 18 cars are expected to line up for another stunning spectacle of fast and exciting racing.
