They had trouble integrating the C-ECU to a Golf last year. Compatibility with existing systems in the cars seems to be the main sticking point, when VW/Audi/Cupra use Bosch, and Honda uses Motec, for instance.
Looking back 5 years ago, it could have been addressed then...
