The "British Championships" do not deserve houseroom after the behaviour displayed in the past towards those who make it all possible - voluntary marshals and track maintainers - by refusing to run on slippery surfaces when they have taken up entries that could have gone to competitors who would have made use of them to entertain the spectators who had paid. Wiscombe 1998 was a milestone that lost them respect which they will never ever recover.
