Paul Simms.
Maybe not as famous as some mentioned on this thread but never-the-less he was an important figure in our UK Historic Formula Ford racing and the last few years over-seeing the rise of son Benn in the historics racing scene.
A lovely happy man with always a cheerful greeting in our Historic FF paddock.
Sadly succumbed to Corona Virus April 3 2020
HFF wish to record our deepest sympathy to his wife Carol and Katy & Benn
From the FF1600 website.
The FF1600 world is mourning the loss of Paul Simms, who died of coronavirus on Friday morning.
Simms, who was 74, was a regular and committed racer in the Pre 74 Formula Ford series in the 1980s and early ’90s, driving cars including a March 718 and a Merlyn Mk20. In more recent years, he earned a fine reputation as an engine builder and supported his son Benn Simms to a series of historic single-seater championships. In 2014, the younger Simms won titles in Historic FF1600, Historic FF2000 and Historic Formula 3.
