Might be the best ever overall session result for ByKolles, well after the R10 days I guess at least. Anyway 2:03.515 is still a terrible time and only slightly faster than their FP1 time last year where they finished 9th, in the end this is down to the bop success penalties and overall decrease of quality of course. Interestingly also the comparative LMP2 pace has not really increased despite one year of continued tire war advancement and even some new compounds here but then again that too might've slowed down once Michelin realized they had been kicked out of the class. The height of the Michelin-Dunlop development arms race was really 2018 into early 2019 and in the coming years with single supplier deals we can look back into that with some nostalgia
