The new GTR is not based on the Skyline, but is an all new sportscar design to compete with Porsche/Ferrari etc.
Its also a world car (sold everywhere), unlike previous 'Skyline' GTRs. This makes it more likely a ACO/FIA spec car will be raced outside of Japan.
