I also went down to sunny Le Mans this weekend. (Do you know how long it has been since I've seen sunshine, those couple of hundred miles south make all the difference)
It's a bit of a trek, 10 hours total from Cambridgeshire to La Sarthe, down the glorious traffic free French roads, but well worth it.
Here are my, random, thoughts...
As X2LX says, the Bentleys looked good (so did there support trucks) and I'm sure they've made them deliberately quiet to give them an air of class. They went fast too. Check
http://www.totalmotorsport.com for times.
MG had a nightmare, one of their cars didn't run a proper timed lap (on the scoresheet as a 43min lap) and the other only did a couple of timed laps, but was competitively quick.
Several cars wore Union Jacks this year (including the Gulf Audi) which made a change from last year when there were no officially British entries.
The GT3 Callaway has rear lights from a Vauxhall/Opel Tigra.
I hope it does well in the race, it makes a change from the rest of the boring Porsches.
The Corvettes sounded wonderful, as did the Cadilac Sevile pace cars. The Panoz, as has been discussed on this forum, sounded really lame.
The Tertre Rouge pub was shut.
That is about it.
