Youngest pole winner in history, beating Graham Rahal's previous record from St. Pete 2008. It's hard for me to believe that Herta's team is on top of things to the point that their car is the best in the field. I've always believed the car was the main factor in qualifying, given a driver capable of top 10 or so qualifying pace. Herta's pace has me wondering about that theory.
Impressive effort by RLL to get both cars into the top six. Always hard to guess what teams are doing in the practice sessions, but they seemed to be going well on the blacks.
