Absolutely, it's just that I am not sure which is more surprising-that skinny tyred junior single seaters with a 1400 cc engine (albeit turbocharged) are now lapping at the same pace as the big winged, fat slicked, V8 engined behemoths that I watched in my youth or that I have been going to Thruxton for nearly half a century ! From memory the Formula Ford lap record in 1974 was about 1:26.
