it's also interesting how in 2000 they axed GT1 then for 2003 they axed GT2 , only to axe the new GT2 (formely GT3) in 2007 and since then we are stuck with this overregulated GT3
The issue with the old way of doing things was cost. while those cars were incredible even back then a mclaren cost £750,000...thats 1.2 million in todays money.

Yes i agree its kinda overregulated but it has lead to large mixed grids and stable regulation for 15 years now....almost unheard of in the sportscar world.
