Predicitions for Suzuka
Ok, the first race of the season is almost upon us, at the glorious Suzuka circuit.
The Honda's are looking good like usual, and all the riders have set competitive times during IRTA testing. Rossi has been his usual self, spellbindingly quick, while others such as Biaggi, Kato and even young Nicky Hayden have been on the pace. Yamaha have been no slouches when it comes to testing, with Alex Barros continuing his great form with some top times during testing. Unfortunately, the rest of the squad have not really been on his pace. Ducati have been the sensations of the winter and both riders are looking keen and hungry for immediate success. Capirossi would be the choice to break Ducati's duck this season. Suzuki, Proton and Kawasaki look to be making up the numbers at this point in time. So what are the tips for the MotoGP class, another Rossi win? Biaggi to cause an upset? Barros to prove the doubters wrong? Or a surprise Ducati victory? |

Realistically, the only non-Honda rider with a chance is Barros. The others will just make up the field. Forget Kawasaki, WCM, Aprilia and the Proton V-5 (if/when it arrives; the KR3 will be faster for the first half of the season at least, not to mention more reliable). Suzuki is struggling too. Ducati might score top 5 places occasionally, but no more than that.

I actually think Bayliss will outscore Capirossi from early on, and could be their first winner. His form in Superbikes shows what he can do
My tip for a surprise top 5 finish early on is Katoh, he was superb once he got his hands on the new bike late last year, and could frighten the other Honda guys, especially Hayden. Suzuki might do better than you think, the bike is underpowered but their rider lineup is impressive. |

I must say, I have to agree with asha's sentiments. I don't think Hayden has really done enough to deserve the top ride in MotoGP at the moment, particularly when you look at riders who were overlooked - see Colin Edwards...

Lol I belive that even being in the same team would mean that Max would still loose the most.
Rossi is just better than he is. |
