The 01 Porsche is one of ours. The 00 Porsche had a gearbox problem and is now running well back but still running.

Dale Earnhardt hit somebody and now is running with only one headlight.

The field is down to about 50 cars.

Damn!! I missed out on that coverage!! I had to keep logging on to Totalmotorsport.com to get an update (Great work on there behalf by the way).

There is one thing that makes my blood boil here in the UK, and that is the total lack of good motorsport coverage.

Oh sure, we have British Eurosport who do a pretty good job, but Daytona did'nt even get a mention!! AAAAGGGHH!!!

If we can have channel devoted to smegging Manchester United why the heck cant we have a sat channel for motorsport?

Come on Robert Maxwell, get your finger out and start spending some of your zillion's of pounds on pleasing a lot of motorsport fans!!!

Still, one fat media mogul is much like another.... apart from Maxwell who's dead.... on the other hand who'd really notice the difference?

I guessed as much, MGF. Couldn't resist it, I'm afraid!

I agree totally with your sentiments though. There has got to be room somewhere on that satellite for a dedicated motor sports channel. And there must surely be an audience out there.

This time last year, I actually resorted to having a friend tape the US Speedvision feed of Daytona and Sebring and mail it to me!

I find it particularly galling that the racing fan actually gets less viewing choice with Sky's digital feed than we did with the analogue. On the old analogue system, it was easy to pick up the German satellite broadcasts and get live DTM, German F3, ADAC GT cup and all kinds of great archive stuff as well.

It certainly does beggar belief.

The only other channel that will attempt to show minority Motorsport is men and motors... half an hour of motorsport interspersed with 4 hours of soft porn (not that I'm complaining mind)!!

Datona coverage

Speedvision coverage for 25 hours was exelent, I watched about 15 hours of that. Weather was terrible, but it was like old home week for me. J. Stewart was there, both motor mouths did a fine job(that is D. Hobbs and S. Posey).
Journalist Pete Lyons and Chris Economaci made an appearance. Hurley Haywood and many more got on the tube. It was like turning the clock back to 1970, it was just wonderfull.

Lucky person you!!

I wish we had the equivalent over here. Eurosport occasionaly broadcast Nascar coverage, but there really is no telling if they are going to televise what they advertise.... crazy...

I saw the whole 25 hours. Fascinating stuff, endurance racing.

The coverage was pretty good except I saw way too much NASCAR, and I am sure that out of the 10,000 e-mails they said they got, not ALL of them said "YOU ARE GODS". Those, unfortunatley, were the only ones that they read or displayed.

However, we barraged them with e-mails asking why they were ignoring Our Cars, and finally they did start mentioning them, so I guess they were reading some of them.
