Channel Ten Champcar TV Coverage
Channel Ten show the CCWS races either very late Monday or very late Tuesday. I know there is a big time difference but there is no reason why they can't put the races on earlier. They shound put the races on no later than Monday 10:30PM. The next race will be shown at Tuesday 1:30AM.
The following times would work: USA, Canada and Mexico Rounds-Monday 6:00PM-8:00PM (Delayed) Australia and South Korea Rounds-Friday, Saturday, Sunday (All Sessions Live) Has CCWS always been on 10. Maybe CCWS could go to channel 7 or 9. Maybe they will do a better job? |

Channel 10 won't show the South Korean race live because of the Australian Moto GP. They also need to show the kiddies programs to give an alternative to the boring morning programs. However, if Big Boredom was not on then all would be sweet. |

And be thank full your not in Tasmania, I had till wait till the friday after the race to watch the California Speedway race in 2002!!!
There might also be an issue with the editing or getting the edited footage out too ten as well. |

mabs,
I was so disappointed with Channel 10's coverage of Champcar, I decided to get myself RaceDirector. It's around $40AU, a worthy investment! http://www.champcarworldseries.com/R...ctor/Offer.asp |

I'm usually the first to have a go at Ten, but really what are they meant to do regarding the coverage. They are given the footage they are given, and make what they can with it. With Big Brother they are even delaying the F1 for it this weekend, so ChampCar never had a hope....... |

I think they do a great job with what they have, and considering that not even the Bikes get a fair wack most of the time i'm fairly 'appy with what they do.

Sorry to go off topic but does anybody know what tv ratings CH10 gets on there broadcast of CC?
Only like 10 out of 4 zillion people i have meet knows something about CC racing, so it makes me wonder does CH10 do a good enough job with CC because they do a hell of a lot for F1 and even go to a "special room" on the RPM show(if you watch rpm you know what i mean). I wonder if CC will ever end up on FOX..... |

What are they supposed to do with it? It isn't as popular as F1, how many people in Australia would even know there is a 'Team Australia' in it?
The telling factor for what they think of ChampCar is that the only IRL they show is the 500, and they're showing it live, and usually give it a fair whack on RPM as well, yet as mentioned ChampCar hardly gets mentioned these days on 10....... Is it really half an hour only next Monday night? |

Why are they delaying the CC race for big brother up late? Is this a joke. There is alot of crap on Free TV but big brother is by far the ever made, but people still watch it. What is the point in watching it? Don't people have anything better to do. Does anybody here watch Big brother?
All Motor racing should go to another channel. Maybe they would do a better job. It should go to ABC because they have no adds. I HATE BIG BROTHER SO MUCH! you big brother and channel ten for delaying the CC race for big brother! |

I don't see why they can't show the race Live and because of the time difference show the race again at no later than 10:30PM on Monday Night.
Round 2: Monterrey Race Time=3:45PM So they could show the race as follows: Sunday=LIVE at 4:45 (early Monday morning) Monday=Delayed at 10:30PM I am going by my time (Perth) That would work. |

I don't think its a huge deal mabs_nsx.
I set the VCR using the G Code, and it adjusted the finish time to 4.10am. I usually add about twenty minutes (there was a "Carry On" movie at 4.30am!) and that ensures you don't get cut off before the end of the race. I watched the replay. Yes, Big Brother dragged on interminably, but you just fast-forward through that and the ads and the safety car periods. Compared to a lot of other delayed / replayed coverage (think Carrera Cup, etc) we got a good proportion of the coverage. Wasn't Marcus Marshall's drive ordinary though! |

Stupid en big brother when 10 minuits overtime last night. I had waited enough then I put it on channel 10 and had to sit through 10 minuits of that crap and to make it worse the last 5 minuits I had to watch people sleeping when I could have been watching the CC race.

I don't think Marcus Marshall is ready to be in CC's this year. He hasn't been very good in his first 2 races. |

well Live for you Mabs would be at 3.45am but over here in the eastern states the race was on at 6.45am and unfortunately we know that the TV stations are managed over here in NSW/VIC.
6.45am would cut straight into their morning breakfast programs and thats a big demographic for them to loose , Champcar would probably love due to the fact of the new fans they would pick up but Im sure whatever the morning show on 10 is would hate it. me I got up at 6.30am (after going to bed about 2am) and watched the race live on race director |

They could at least show the race at no later than 10:30PM on Monday. They could give news a miss as the news in on for a full hour from 5:00PM-6:00PM. They could put crapy big brother on at 12:30 ov even better don't put it on at all.

Mabs, in a nutshell, more people watch the crap that is on at the times you suggested in one state alone, than all of Australia watching the CCWSPBF.
